How to Create a Shockwave In Pepper Panic Saga
How to Create a Shockwave in Pepper Panic Saga – Basics
If you have played Candy Crush Saga you know that combining more than 3 candies together at the same time creates special candies that have special powers. In Pepper Panic Saga the peppers themselves grow larger when you match them and explode when they reach their full size. Additionally, combining 4 or more peppers at once causes a “shockwave” which grows all the peppers that are in its path, and damages obstructions like statues, ice, crates, and cages. The shockwave looks like a fireball and they can do a lot of neat things.
How to Create a Shockwave in Pepper Panic Saga Video
In the video you see that the shockwave travels in the direction of a straight line when 4 peppers are combined, depending on how the combination was made. You can also combine 5 peppers in a “T” shape or an “L” shape to create a double shockwave that goes in both directions.
An “L” shape
Shockwaves are a powerful tool to speed up the pepper growing process and also come in handy when you are dealing with destroying statues. In most cases you will always want to combine 4 or more peppers together when you get the chance. You will hear us refer to “T” and “L” shaped matches in a lot of our guides as they are necessary for completing several levels.
The Match-5 Super Shockwave
The shockwave that is a result of matching 5 peppers together in a straight line is the more powerful than those made by other matches. This shockwave continues through the obstructions in its path rather than stopping when it hits the first one. For example if there are two blocks of ice next to each other the match-5 super shockwave will damage them both where any other shockwave would hit the first and stop. The super shockwave also travels in both directions so this is by far the most useful shockwave to make in the game.
The screenshots below show the different effect of the shockwave that is produced by matching 5 peppers together in a straight line:
How to Create Shockwaves Tips
Shockwaves have changed since the game was first released so you may see in our original videos that they look different. They are actually simpler to understand now and can be described in a few simple points:
- All matches that are made with 4 peppers or more create shockwaves.
- All shockwaves grow all the peppers in their path by one size.
- Shockwaves can be used to damage statues and obstructions including ice, cages, crates, and petrified peppers.
- Shockwaves from 5 pepper straight line matches are more powerful than others, and can travel through obstructions.
- When you hit a cage with a shockwave it will be destroyed, and the pepper inside will grow by one stage.
Watch the video above to hear a more detailed description, and to see shockwave matches in action. They are one of the games most unique features, and are necessary to completing lots of levels. The way they originally worked was different in that 5 pepper straight line matches didn’t create them, and shockwaves that came from 4 pepper matches removed small peppers. If you read through our level guides you might see something about this, but as of now these rules no longer exist.
When watching our older videos things won’t look exactly the same, but you will still be able to understand the strategy for completing each level. If you come across a video that seems confusing due to the different look leave a comment below it so that we can update it in the future.
Remember, if you want to grow peppers in a hurry, or destroy something that is in your way, look to match 4 or more peppers together in any shape to create a shockwave. They will come in handy for you in a wide variety of situations so don’t forget how powerful they can be.
